Would my rabbit be better indoors or outside?

When we had rabbits they were always outside during the day with a huge pen to runaround in and then put into an inside hutch at night. that way they didn't get stressed as they had been able to runaround and nibble at the gr during the day but were safe at night when predators are out and about. It sounds like the indoor rabbit is bored and possible stressed if it is confined to a hutch for the majority of each day
