My Tenor Sax register is really jammed. I have to manually switch it back out. Does anyone know how to fix it?

It's making my upper ledger line notes sound like my lower notes. Also, I'm not exactly sure if the register key is the reason for this, but when I play a G (both G's high and low), it is EXTREMELY sharp. It plays a G# or a Concert F#, either way it's very sharp and it's getting me a bit frustrated. Do any Tenor Sav experts out there know how to fix this problem?
