Who is the Rascal Flatts song "why" about?

All three members of Rascal Flatts said that they had difficulty recording the song, because they all knew someone close to them that committed suicide. Its about how all of the members to the Rascal Flatts have dealt with suicide in their lives. Two of the members lost their uncle to suicide and the other one lost his friend due to suicide in high school. (And why you'd leave the stage in the middle of a song / Now in my mind I keep you frozen as a seventeen year old)
